NYSSSA In-Residency Program

Established in 1970, the New York State Summer School of the Arts Program has trained over 20,000 students since its inception. The In-Residency NYSSSA Program offers an immersive summer experience for high school artists. The 4-week summer program will take place at SUNY Fredonia and delivers robust pre-professional training, personalized coaching, and leadership development to qualified students across the state.

Who Can Apply?
New York State students in grades 8-12 are eligible to apply for our in-residency programs.
Deadlines
Early decision deadline apply by January 12th, 2025. This is for students who want to secure their spot at NYSSSA with priority consideration.
Regular decision deadline apply by March 14th, 2025.
2025 Tuition Cost and Tuition Aid Information:
Cost for the in-residence programs will be $2,800. Once accepted, a $280 deposit is required to secure the spot and confirm participation. Tuition Aid will be available for families making under $91,000/year Adjusted Gross Income or who have extenuating financial circumstances. Size of family, unemployment/under employment, and special circumstances will be taken into consideration. Tuition Aid will be awarded on a sliding scale and amounts to 10-90% of program cost. No merit scholarships are available.
A Day In the Life:
In this intensive program, students immerse themselves in their chosen artistic discipline, dedicating up to 14 hours a day for 6-7 days a week. The teaching staff is comprised of accomplished professional artists, companies, college professors, and teachers who impart their skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the future artistic talent of New York's high schools.
