2023 Scholarship Applications Now Closed
Following the successful launch of the Arts Scholarship Program in the summer of 2022, NYSED's Office of Cultural Education will again offer a total of $168,000 in scholarship opportunities for high school students to attend other regional summer arts programs for summer 2023. Students can apply for a scholarship April 1 through May 1.
The goal of the scholarship program is to promote access and equity to arts education by providing need-based grants to low-income students pursuing summer opportunities.

No questions were received for RFIs 21-001A-C for NYSSSA’s School of Choral Studies, School of Media Arts and School of Visual Arts. Responses for the RFIs are due Sept. 8. Please see links to the three RFIs below.
School of Media Arts: Request for Information for Host Campus
NYSSSA provides advanced artistic training to young performers. Students in the Media Arts program vary in age. Students entering 8th grade to students who have just finished 12th grade are eligible to apply for the program. NYSSSA seeks a campus in New York State that is able to host the program as early as Summer 2022. The ideal campus is easily accessible (within 30-minute drive) from public transportation, such as bus stations, train stations, or airports.
NYSSSA is soliciting feedback from colleges and institutions of higher education (IHEs) regarding resources available and interest in hosting NYSSSA’s School of Media Arts.
Please note, this is not a request for proposals. A contract will not be awarded based on submissions. NYSSSA anticipates issuing a request for proposals in the future.

VIRTUAL 2021 SEASON
Due to uncertainity surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, NYSSSA programming will be entirely virtual for the 2021. Because of this, there will be no tuition charged for any of our seven schools.

2020 NYSSSA SUMMER PROGRAMMING SUSPENDED
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty when public and social gatherings will be safe to resume, the New York State Education Department has decided that the New York State Summer School of the Arts will suspend programming for the 2020 summer season.
